My dad has been calling Livita Bridge Street Retirement Residence home since last December. The staff here are wonderful! They are warm and welcoming, and always have time to chat with the residents. Kudos to the kitchen staff as they prepare a wide variety of meal options. My dad is always happy to eat the meals, especially dessert! It is so easy to write a positive review for Bridge Street Retirement Home. This home is always clean & fresh with a very home-like atmosphere. Being cozy and quaint makes it ideal for anyone to feel happy and comfortable here. My mother has been residing here for a little over a year. Everyone is so kind, loving and caring. I visit often and have felt close to everyone, workers and even some other residents. It's the atmosphere, the warmth, the positivity that seems to flow through the veins of everyone associated with this home. I can't single out anyone in particular as I find everyone to be completely wonderful. This includes, office staff, nurses, PSWs, cleaners, cooks, front desk personnel, everyone! Thank you to all of you for being who you are, doing difficult jobs and always wearing a smile and being so respectful. Thank you! Giselle BichonPosted on Google![]()

My mother was fortunate to stay at Bridge Street Retirement Residence for a number of years. It's truly a gem among retirement residences, located very close to downtown Belleville. For seniors that have good mobility, this is a definite plus. My mother's mobility wasn't that great and unfortunately she didn't enjoy walks downtown as other residents of Bridge Street Retirement Residence did. But she did very much like living there. The staff are wonderful and make you feel like your at home. They take the time to get to know you and I certainly felt that they cared. The food was excellent at Bridge Street Retirement Residence as well, and that, of course, is very important.Posted on Google![]()

My 96 year old father lives at Bridge Street Retirement Residence. He moved in almost 1 year ago at the beginning of the pandemic. We could not be happier with all of the staff and the residence itself. Dad being there gives me great peace of mind-and the level of care is incredible. I know he is well taken care of which means a lot to me. Thank you Bridge Street!Posted on Google![]()

Applying for a license ensures that retirement communities are regulated, and that certain care and safety standards need to be met. You and your loved one can rest easy knowing that all of our Livita retirement residences, including our Belleville retirement residence, meet these standards.

The terms nursing home and long-term care home refer to the same type of facility. And yes, despite being a place where older adults live, they differ from retirement homes. Retirement communities offer independent living services, with minimal support to their residents. Nursing homes or LTCs are for older adults that need regular care and support.
Any older adult can live in a retirement home given that they qualify and can comply with the requirements. For instance, they have to be a certain age, usually 55 years old and over, to join a retirement community. They also must pass the application process to secure a spot at the residence.

20+ years at Bridge Street. I love my work because our residents have so much character and life experiences to share. Hailing from the Maritimes, I know good hospitality and the true appreciation of a foot thumping fiddle song!
